Hello, World

Welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm Carlos Philips, an infrastructure engineer, full-stack developer, and AI automation enthusiast based in Offenburg, Germany, where I'm also working toward my MSc in Enterprise & IT Security.
So what is this place? After years of writing internal runbooks, troubleshooting checklists, and automation scripts that only my colleagues ever read, I decided it was time to start publishing. This blog is where I'll write about the work I actually do:
- AI automation: orchestrating agents, building workflows, and making machines do the boring parts of IT.
- Sysadmin & infrastructure: the day-to-day reality of keeping systems alive, patched, and observable.
- Networking & datacenters: cabling, switching, routing, and the physical layer most software people never think about.
- Security: what I'm learning in my master's program and how it changes the way I build and operate systems.
Expect practical posts with real commands, real configs, and honest accounts of what broke and how I fixed it. No corporate filler, no "10x productivity hacks" fluff. Just the notes I wish I'd had when I started.
If something here helps you, or if you think I got it wrong, reach out. The best part of writing in public is the conversation that follows.
Thanks for reading. Let's build something.
